Experience the Beauty of Seychelles!
September 30th, 2011
Located in the Indian Ocean, Seychelles is made up of 115 islands. Seychelles has become ever more popular with tourists for it’s pristine beaches and crystal clear water. Its not just the sandy beaches that draw thousands of tourists a year, there are so many other delightfully pleasant and fascinating sites dotted over the region.
Curieuse Island is a very popular area famous for its red earth. This unique tint of soil led to the nickname ‘Ile Rouge’. It now provides shelter for just under 500 Aldabra Giant Tortoise, perfect for wildlife and nature lovers.
Another very popular place to visit is Baie Laraie, where colourful parrotfish grow up to 1.2 metres in length and swim in the shallow water. This, as I’m sure you can imagine, makes for great viewing. If you are feeling adventurous, why not experience an exploratory trail excursion first-hand? Starting from Baie Laraie and finishing at Anse St. José, it will give you a great chance to discover Seychelles natural beauty.
Ste Anne Marine National Park was originally established in 1973 to provide protection for endangered species. Nowadays, it has become the favourite destination for snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, swimming and diving.
Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is equally famous and has also been declared as a World Heritage Site. The park offers shelter to reptiles, mammals, crustaceans and a range of bird life including Black Parrot. Other tempting areas include Praslin, La Digue, Aride Island, Denis Island, Mahe and Silhouette Island to name a few.
