An Overview of Aruba
January 4th, 2012
I have visited Aruba many times in the past few years and let me tell you it is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. The Caribbean’s westernmost island is blessed with amazing sun kissed beaches and crystal clear waters. Not only is Aruba one of the most idyllic islands in the Caribbean, due to its location, its also one of the best year round islands in terms of weather.
A small island measuring 19 miles by 6 it packs a big punch when it comes to activates and scenery. Aruba offers a lot more than just a stunning coastline, a half day excursion provided us with a snapshot of the island where we stopped for obligatory photo opportunities at the California lighthouse and tiny Alto Vista chapell. Strange rock formations and a natural coastal archway also help to exhibit the islands natural beauty.
A great 4×4 trip also opened up more of the island and we saw some amazing scenery in the National parks and at the Natural pool. As the name suggests it’s a natural pool set amidst rocks in the ocean providing a great snorkelling opportunity.
The night life is something that has to be sampled. From the Sunday night beach party at Moomba beach bar, to crazy cocktails at Senor frogs. Or if you prefer, just cruise round one of the many designer outlet shops in the capital and bag yourself a bargain to take home. Whatever you’re looking for, Aruba offers a different and diverse experience, even to the more seasoned Caribbean fans.
